Nitr0 officially returns to CSGO and Team Liquid.

“Captain America” has ended his stage in VALORANT to return to compete with players like EliGE.

Team Liquid has officially announced via Twitter the addition of Nicholas Cannella “nitr0” to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) team for the 2022 season. The signing of nitr0 means the return of the Americans to both Counter-Strike. And the one that was his club for five years. The professional player, also popularly known as “Captain America,” landed in the VALORANT section of 100 Thieves last year. With the move – rumored since mid-November – Liquid has now definitively completed its CS: GO starting lineup.

Rumors of nitr0’s return to CS: GO surfaced in early November. The defeat of 100 Thieves in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) made it impossible to participate in the VALORANT Champions, the Riot Games shooter world championship. In a said tournament, nitr0 acted as an in-game leader (IGL) after the organization decided to do without Joshua Nissan “steel,” currently a T1 player. The results were a disappointment for a club that closed 2020 by proclaiming themselves champions of the First Strike and that managed to reach the semifinals of the Masters of Berlin.

Finally, nitr0 rejoins the ranks of Team Liquid, the club where he has won the vast majority of his titles. Cannella was part of the North American team that won the Intel Grand Slam in 2019, winning a total of nine titles. During his five years, he came to play all kinds of positions, from rifler to IGL to AWPer. In an interview with the Washington Post, the player explained that the motivation to return to CS: GO came through the Stockholm Major. “Captain America” has assured that he initially spoke about his possible return with Jonathan Jablonowski “EliGE” and that Liquid was his only option.

Nitr0 reaches a leading Team Liquid during the last transfer market. After failing to make the playoffs at the Stockholm Major, the club dispensed with the services of Gabriel Toledo “FalleN,” Jake Yip “Stewie2k,” and Michael Wince “Grim.” In addition to nitr0 himself, the North American team has instead signed Richard Papillon “ Shox ” and Josh Ohm “ oSee.” EliGE was the only player whose continuity was guaranteed from the beginning, while Keith “NAF” Markovic was finally renewed by the organization.
