Epic Games Pulls Travis Scott Emote From Item Shop

In case you didn’t know by now, a lot of controversies have started to follow Travis Scott as he played at his most recent event at the AstroWorld Festival.

As a result, to that unfortunate tragedy, the Travis Scott “Out West” emote was completely removed from the Item Shop in Fortnite. That’s right, one of the most famous emotes in the game was now completely removed from the shop after the death of eight people ensued at his concert.

When asked about it, Epic Games simply stated that they do not want to be associated with this sort of behavior. In case you’re not aware of what happened, as the masses were literally passing out or being taken away by the emergency services, Travis Scott just continued to sing and ignored everything.

Epic have always supported Travis Scott as they tried to implement his emote into every piece of advertisement they could, but as soon as this controversy hit it became blatantly clear on which side they were resting on considering the fact that so many people got injured and eight people even lost their lives during this event.

This is especially important news considering the fact that Travis Scott was featured in Fortnite several times over the past couple of years now and he was arguably even working his way through a new collab with them as soon as the new season started.

This doesn’t appear to be happening anymore as Epic Games are trying their hardest to distance themselves from the artist, to the point where they’re even willing to completely remove the emote from the game altogether.

Travis Scott attempted to save his career by writing a long expose post in which he tried to apologize and wish the families of the victims good health ahead and he even tried to say that he was actively working with the Houston community to support the families.

Whether or not that is true we don’t know for sure, what we do know however is that Epic Games are clearly trying to make a stand here as they try to distance themselves from him altogether.

Will Travis Scott actually ever come back to Fortnite and will we even be able to use the emote anymore in the future following this tragedy? As far as we can tell, it doesn’t seem likely as Epic are really banking on dropping any future collabs with him altogether.

Travis Scott even had a new series of cosmetics that was meant to be introduced in the game after the Astronomical concert. Will it actually still be available to purchase in the game or will Epic Games completely and utterly remove all ties with the artist?
