Jesse Lingard announced that he has acquired the eSports Audacity Esports organization. Yet another sportsman entering the world of eSports. In the team purchase agreement, the Rainbow Six Siege team known as JLE will change its name and be renamed as JLINGZ esports and will participate in UKIN next year.
Jesse Lingard, Manchester United and England player, did not hide the joy of this acquisition. “My JLINGZ brand has grown over the years, but finally diving into esports and adding my teams to JLINGZ is incredible.
“Esports has it all to me, it’s fast and competitive, the community is great and it’s been great to have Ubisoft support on this journey as well. Keep an eye on this space, JLINGZ esports are going all the way!”
The undeclared goal of the JLINGZ team is to qualify for the Rainbox Six Siege European Challenger League 2022, a difficult but not impossible goal. This new signing, however, brought some great changes to the team, in fact Skiddy, Lewis ‘Xumi’ Coulson, Joshua ‘Nerf’ Frost, Jack ‘Blackout’ Greenwell and Aleksi ‘Movetaho’ Kuoppa were eliminated. Of the old team only captain Sam Williams has been confirmed.
A sign of how we want to aim high in the coming years. Ubisoft also wanted to comment on Lingard’s landing in the world of eSports and in particular in Rainbox Six. “We are thrilled to have Jesse on board and look forward to someone who knows everything about racing at the highest level to bring his experience to the British and Irish scene,” said Will Attwood, Ubisoft UK Esports Marketing Manager.
“Rainbow Six Esports and UK & Ireland Nationals are going from strength to strength; having someone as well known and respected as Jesse Lingard involved is a testament to the game’s enduring popularity within the local eSports community, ”concluded Attwood. Lingard is just the last of the sportsmen to land in the world of eSports.
This combination always already becomes strong and important. The European eSports market is growing rapidly and is trying to reach the Asian and American markets, where very important investments have been made. We will think if Lingard will succeed in this adventure and perhaps be more fortunate in eSports than on the pitch.
