Everything You Need to Know About PUBG: New State

The world of gaming was forever changed back in 2017 when a new titan of the industry was released. Player Unknown’s Battle Grounds was arguably the very first battle royale game to break out of its shell into the media, causing millions of players, new and old, to get on the hype train and change the meta forever. It spawned hundreds if not thousands of clones worldwide, with the most famous one definitely being Fortnite, even creating its own genre on Steam known as the battle royale category.

So, you can already guess how incredibly excited the world was when Krafton, the main developer behind the gaming phenomenon, made the announcement that a sequel to the world-famous title was in the making.

The world went nuts when they heard this, and a question sprung out from the masses that still prevailed to this very day: Will this new title finally overthrow Fortnite, the current king of battle royale games? We can’t say for sure whether the game will live up to the expectations, but what we can say for now is what we know, aka:

What is PUGB: New State

PUBG: New State is a mobile-only battle royale game which is set in the exact same universe as its prequel. The story is actually set several decades into the future, which is why you can actually see advanced weaponry in the trailer alongside several futuristic vehicles and such. According to the trailer, the game is set up in 2051 as it is all meant to showcase what the world would have turned into after several decades of battle royale-style wars.

We can’t say for sure what exactly happened in between the two games, but what we can say is that based on the information at hand it appears as though things have only gotten more hectic as time moved on.

We also got a quick glimpse at one of the new maps that will be available to us in the new game known as “TROI”. We don’t know what the story is about but based on what we know of from the previous titles that Tencent have released in the past, we can definitely expect several amazing plot twists and Easter eggs that will make the experience all the sweeter.

Gameplay

As far as we know, the game itself won’t be all that different from its prequel. The players will be dropped off on the map as they will have to fight their way out and run away from the borders that are getting exponentially more limiting as time moves on.

When asked whether the developers believe that this new game will be playable on all phones, they quickly stated that they have done a wonderful job at optimizing it even further than the original PUBG, making sure that even players with less developed phones can still play on an even battlefield and make the most out of their experience online. There will be plenty of options to customize your character as well, and while some of them will most likely be only available through in-game purchases, the developers have promised that these acquisitions will not affect the gameplay in the slightest.

Essentially, you can make your character look any way you want them to, you can make them look goofy wearing the silliest of outfits or you can go for your dream soldier look. This won’t change the gameplay in the slightest, so even if you don’t plan on slamming your credit card into your phone’s charging port you can still enjoy the game for what it is with your buddies without fearing that the pay-to-win meta is going to take its toll on your fun.

What’s New?

One of the questions that many people have asked the developers over and over is what exactly did they do to spice things up for this new title. Why should people be excited for this new game if it’s just a reskin of the previous game? Well, in order to calm the masses, the developers have assured everyone that the differences are far from that, especially since the game is set in the future for one.

You can clearly see in the trailer that the battlefield is now filled up with advanced technology machinery, including drones, ballistic shields and of course, advanced weaponry which is definitely going to change things up for the community that has grown tired of the same weapons from the original title.

There are also plenty of new vehicles to use in order to get away from the ever-so-stressful walls which close in on you every minute or so. You will even get access to drones and helicopters meaning that players will be able to have some intense airborne fights with their buddies which we’re definitely excited about.

If you want to try out the closed alpha then all that you need to do is you need to sign up for it on their official website. The only catch is that you will have to prove that you’ve also played the former game from the series and most importantly that you are from the United States. This is because that’s where their only active servers lie.

If you have successfully applied to be a part of the testing squad for the game then you should receive an email giving you the code to enter the game and start attacking one another.

The official launch of the game however is still pretty much unknown. According to the developers however, it appears as though they are trying their hardest to clear out any remaining bugs and glitches so as to make the formal release in the later half of 2021, maybe around the start of 2022.

We are definitely excited to see what these developers have in store for us, especially since they have offered us one of the most defining gaming experiences of the decade back in 2017. Are you excited for this new title or are you done with the battle royale craze?
